Anthony Genet was born in Christchurch in 1967.He began experimenting with glass when he was a teenager while stripping paint with a gas burner,curiosity compelled him to melt some broken glass he found in the garden, Anthony burnt his fingers a few times and thus a Fiery relationship with glass was formed.
In his early 20s he saw real glass blowing from a furnace and instantly knew that was what he wanted to devote has time to. Three months later he moved to Whangarei to study their hot glass program.
Anthony's work is exciting component of contemporary New Zealand glass art. He pushes the boundaries of glass and neon,while letting the glass teach him as he goes.
In 2015 Anthony won premier award in the Nelson Art Expo with a blown glass and neon piece titled " Spinning sand into Gold "
